A
licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years experience in the
field of mental health services and psychotherapy and energy therapy
or Reiki, Victoria is a graduate of Emory University with a BA in Psychology
and Tulane University with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. She
has studied cognitive, psychodynamic, Gestalt, EMDR, hypnotherapy, and
family therapy as well as being well-versed in Mindfulness and positive
approaches to change, integrating these approaches to meet each person’s
unique needs. In addition she began training in 1980 as a Reiki practitioner
and has been teaching Reiki as a Reiki Master in the Usui tradition since
1994. She is able to use energy work (no touch involved) in sessions
to support release, insight, and integration. Having studied both the philosophy and practices of yoga since 1981, Victoria brings the resulting personal growth and wisdom to her work as a therapist. She is able to share the invaluable benefits of present-moment awareness in getting to know and accept yourself with enhanced understanding, compassion, and empowerment. Yoga teaches that the heart is the center of our being where all fulfillment can be found. But for most of us, there are layers of armoring, an inner family of conflicted parts, and energy blocks protecting old wounds and obscuring our connection to the heart and our true joyful and creative Self . Even in a few sessions working together, something can be learned, released, or shifted, making way for your intelligent and natural inner forces to promote your healing and growth. You deserve to be happy and to fully inhabit the best parts of your self. |
